Beta Glucan

Beta Glucan is a component that helps maintain immune balance. Beta Glucan is a high quality pure extract from Baker’s Yeast.

Beta 1,3–D glucan is a polyglucose structure found in the cell wall of baker’s yeast. Due to its unique linkage, beta-glucan binds to specific receptors on phagocytes and NK cells and induces changes in their metabolism (Yan 1999).  Supporting these primary, front-line defenders provides for early immune system detection of infections, cancer cells and improved healing processes. There are several discoveries that provide a solid link between Beta Glucan and tumor immunity (DiRenzo 1991, Diamond 1993). By supporting healthy immune functions, such as cytokine production, chemical messages provide proper self-regulation of immune activities (Vetvicka 2002).

Proper 1,3/1,6 linkage, low protein and low fat content are considered by professionals to be the minimum requirements for a safe, effective, non-toxic Beta Glucan. There are major health concerns associated with inferior glucan products. Without maximum purity, yeast infections, allergies or other adverse side effects may occur.

Our glucan was superior in all categories when tested against all major brands. The John Hopkins University & R-Tech Laboratories (a Division of Land O’ Lakes) did multiple tests on multiple lots of these company’s products over a period of more than one year.R-Tech is ISO 17025 and ISO 9002 certified using methods approved by the FDA and the USDA.
