Nearly 3 years after A. J. Lanigan teamed with Biopolymer Engineering, Inc. and 6 years after bringing the first "effective" dose of Beta 1, 3-D glucan to the marketplace, BetaExpress Inc. is proud to announce that we have taken our Beta Right(tm) line of products to new heights. The latest rounds of mammalian tests conducted on our material concerned exposure to one of the most deadly biological warfare agents known to man: anthrax.

Recently, a coalition of US and Canadian Armed Forces entities, as well as major university and private sector researchers examined data on the widest range of different immune system compounds imaginable to determine their effectiveness against lethal doses of a biological agent. The data was recently presented at a bioterrorism conference in Albuquerque.

It was no surprise to BetaExpress Inc. when Beta 1, 3-D Glucan came in at #1 and #2 of all the compounds that were considered. Proof again, that product specifications do count when it comes to immune system products. We believe that there is no single immune material on the market today better supported by research than ours. This test data adds to the 30+ years of research of the benefits of highly purified Beta Glucan. This is the first time that ANY immune supplement has been shown to be effective specifically against anthrax. More research is being conducted. A new Trade Name has been created and trademarked to celebrate this latest success. Whole Glucan Particulate (WGP(tm)) glucan is used to identify our material.

The BetaExpress Inc. product is a patented, Whole Glucan Particulate (WGP(tm)) Beta 1, 3-D Glucan containing active 1,3/1,6 glucose linkages. This product has the lowest fat levels of any Beta Glucan product, which guarantees the highest possible absorption rate and immune system strengthening.

These results are not on a "general" class of Beta Glucan products, the insoluble (oral) Beta Glucan was specifically on the same product being manufactured for BetaExpress Inc. by A. J. Lanigan for years. And, unlike antibiotic products, BetaExpress Inc. Beta Glucan does not carry the risk of building antibiotic resistance. There is a great body of scientific data that suggests that Beta Glucan can actually enhance the use of antibiotics. More research is needed in this area.

It appears that in mice a highly purified, orally administered insoluble Beta 1, 3-D glucan can be substantially effective in helping to maintain a healthy immune response compared to a water soluble, injectable product -vs.- controls when challenged by a bacterial infection from anthrax. The data suggests that a sufficient oral dose may be needed to enhance the immune response - if taken far enough in advance and often enough. Finally, it was demonstrated that dosing after exposure is less likely to help keep the immune system as healthy as it needs to be. More research is currently underway in this area, as well as in the areas of protection from radiation, cancer, reduction of bad cholesterol, post-operative healing and anti-aging.
